Staffing Procedures for Busy and Sold-Out Dates

"Busy Days" can occur at any time of the week or the year; however, it is the nature of the catering industry to be busy on Weekends and all around holidays. To keep our clients' needs in mind, Service Is Us closely monitors business volume on days when large numbers of staff are requested. The following procedures may apply to days when staffing requests reach our full capacity.

Ordering in Advance:

To best prepare for staffing orders, it is always a good idea to call and ask about availability as far in advance as possible. Orders are filled on a first-call basis, so depending on the business volume of a particular date, it might become difficult to staff even one single additional person, if multiple large orders have already been promised on the same date. Although our office will work hard to fill your every need even for last minute orders, it is always best to call as soon as possible.

Procedure on "Hot Days"

If an order calls for staff on one of our "Hot Days" when business volume is reaching its limit, a tentative order may be accepted by the Booking Manager on a "NOT PROMISED" basis. This status means that with the current booking level on that date, it is uncertain whether there will be enough staff to fulfill the request. The staffing levels on Pre-existing orders are continuously evaluated along with commitments from the SIU staffing pool, which frequently enables us to change all or part of the request to "PROMISED".

Procedure when "Sold Out"

When a given date is definitely booked to full capacity, it is tagged as "SOLD OUT", at which point there is absolutely no staff available to fulfill any additional requests; however, our commitment to you does not end here! The Service Is Us office will take your requests for a waiting list on the given date. If any numbers change for either the supply or demand for the request date, you will be contacted immediately to see if your staffing needs still stand. Service Is Us, will do its best to satisfy the maximum possible number of orders on a sold out day while still fulfilling every promised request.
